Where’s Ayampe?

Located in the Baja Manabi region of Ecuador, Ayampe can be found on the middle of the Ecuadorian coast at 86 km along the famous Route of the Sun (Ruta del Sol). Ayampe is the last humid tropical forest remaining next to the sea in South America. Home to the widest variety of birds and amazing flora, Ayampe is the perfect place to relax and sightsee.

This part of the Ecuadorian coastline has outstanding landscapes and an undisturbed tranquility. Ayampe is known for the infamous rock formation “Los Ahorcados,” which hosts some of the most beautiful sunsets in the Pacific Ocean. Ayampe’s biodiversity is heaven for those searching for serenity and rest.


How to get here?

Car / Door-to-door transfer

We’re a three-hour drive from Jose Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport in the city of Guayaquil.

You may also from Quito to the city of Manta (Tame or LAN Airlines). From Manta is a two-hour drive to Ayampe.

Both drives are scenic and a great way to get to know the Coastal Ecuadorian culture.

From Guayaquil: Take the CLP bus at the Terminal Terrestre into Montañita (20 mins away from us). From there take a taxi.
Travel time: 3 ½ hours.

From Quito: Take the Reina del Camino Bus at the Terminal Terrestre into Puerto Lopez.
Travel time: 12 hours.
